In order to become a member of the Web Marketers Association you must agree to, and abide by, the following 12 point Code of Ethics:
1. You have been in business for at least 90 days. This is to show that the Company has some track record.
2. Your web site clearly displays full contact information and that you can be contacted by phone (your phone may be a voice mail number), email and mail.
3. Your web site has a clearly stated privacy policy displayed on the website. Stating that personal details will not be sold, rented or given out to third parties.
4. Your business and web site have a zero SPAM policy.
5. Your web site uses industry standard level of encryption for credit card transactions to ensure that credit card transactions are secure and safe.
6. To deliver product(s) promptly and/or to deliver within the time frame stated on the web site, if one is so stated
7. Your web site offers a guarantee and a refund policy that are clearly displayed and explained on your web site. Refunds must be made within 14 days of the request for refund.
8. Your business has a customer care department and are committed to providing the best possible customer service and support. This is to ensure that any customer questions or problems can be dealt with.
9. Your web site does not display or link to pornographic content, hate related content, gambling or other addictive content, or any other content that could be deemed as objectionable, unethical, or immoral.
10. Your web site does not secretly or covertly capture visitors personal information.
11. Your web site does not secretly or covertly download or distribute spyware to a visitor’s computer.
12. You are the registrant of the domain name being used.
